Gym Bag Essentials - Keep Yourself Organized

The days of mindlessly lifting huge weights without a care about your health and even if you're being efficient are long gone. These days going to the gym is a finely tuned art.

Preparing carefully and having a flexible, yet well-thought out plan is paramount.

Often ignored is the best gym bag and its contents.

The Water Bottle. Having water while you work-out is an absolute must. Make sure you have water to hand. Interrupting your workout to get to a water fountain is a pain and it stops the flow of your breathing and muscles. Besides fountains aren't always germ free.

Towels. No-one wants to be that person who leaves sweat all over a machine. Apart from that, you'll need something to dry you when you have that muscle relaxing shower.

A Timex Ironman Watch. To make sure you're in the fat burning zone, or the cardio zone or just the twilight zone.

Running Shoes. You should always have spare shoes. To prevent smelly feet and shoes, to lengthen the life of the shoes and specialised shoes for different activities can increase your efficiency.

Laundry Bag. Keeping your clean clothes clean and separate from the worn stuff.

Flip Flops. Helps keep your feet healthy when heading for a swim or to the shower.

Fuel. A drink or some food, quickly consumed to increase energy reserves. An isotonic drink maybe.

Deodorant. You don't wanna smell bad do you?\parMusic Player If you're like me, running 10 miles on a treadmill is more boring than watching paint dry, so entertain yourself with some good music.

A Workout Journal. Keep track of your progress. Setting goals and monitoring them really helps.

There may be other items in your top 10 gym bag essentials. Possibly razor blades so you can get in everyone's way while shaving in the locker room. Whatever you want, ensure you have a brief mental check-list so you don't forget anything.
